                       Cugini Travel Teams in NCSL, WAGS, ODSL

Cugini does not hold open tryouts for new players on a specific date for any of its travel teams playing in NCSL, WAGS, ODSL. Instead, tryouts are held during regular Cugini team practices in fall, winter, spring, and summer. Therefore, parents must contact Cugini team officials to schedule a tryout time for their son or daughter. Please see specific practice days/times below for each team. Players must attend a minimum of two practices to be reviewed for acceptance to a Cugini travel team. • Parents must read the downloadable Travel Team Registration Manual, review the Cugini website, and ask Cugini officials questions BEFORE having their son or daughter try out for a Cugini travel team and registering for a Cugini travel team team as they are committing to an 11-month program.
• The annual tuition fee NEVER increases over the course of the 11-month program year is prorated for players joining a Cugini team mid year.
• Scholarships available to players with financial need. Additional assistance available for ALL players who may not qualify for a scholarship based on need but require alternate payment arrangements. Cugini is committed to working with every family to make this opportunity available to all qualified players on our travel teams. • All Cugini team members are automatically eligible to participate in tournament play in Italy every summer and review by talent scouts from professional Italian clubs. In addition, all Cugini members have the opportunity to train in Italy with a professional Italian club  for FREE each summer!

Outside Travel Teams Transferring to Cugini

As a young but growing organization, Cugini has a large number of open spots for entire teams in WAGS, NCSL, and ODSL each season - from age 8 through 18 - which the club plans to fill. Cugini welcomes coaches and parents outside the club who have interest in forming new teams or bringing their current team to Cugini and working with us to teach more children the Italian Olympic Sanctioned player development program that has proven successful in Italy for generations. All Cugini teams practice and play home games in Reston. Note: Teams from outside Cugini have the option of joining Cugini's established 11-month travel program or designing their own training program, where they may continue to work with their current coach and trainer. Cugini provides free training and educational resources in Virginia to its coaches and trainers interested in learning Italian player development methodology as well as discounts on coach training courses in Italy sponsored by the Italian National Olympic Committee and the Italian Soccer Federation. All Cugini teams  are automatically eligible for tournament play  in Italy each summer as well as review by scouts from professional Italian clubs.

Cancellations Due to Inclement Weather:  Call the Cugini hotline at 866.792.9433 for practice cancellation information due to field closings. Be sure to call the hotline on days after periods of rain - as the County will close fields due to muddy conditions, even on sunny days.
